Anonymity
You can send a tip without telling anyone who you are. TypVault does not ask for your name or contact details, and it does not store your IP address, your device, or your browser fingerprint.
What this protects
Section titled “What this protects”That gap is deliberate. The platform does not know whether you used an iPhone or an Android, Safari or Chrome. Neither does anyone who might come looking later: information that was never stored cannot be handed to anyone. Your tip code is the only thing that connects you to your tip.
Checking on your tip is not tracked either. TypVault does not record when you check, or how many times. There is no log of your visits. Your tip code lets you in, and that is the only thing the system knows.
The questions never ask who you are
Section titled “The questions never ask who you are”When you send a tip, short guided questions ask about the situation, not about you. None of them ask who you are, where you live, or how you are connected to what you describe. The set of questions is fixed in the app’s code, and each one is reviewed for anything that could point back to you before it goes in. Wording can change by category, but no category can add a question.
Your language is not kept
Section titled “Your language is not kept”Write in whatever language you are comfortable with. Your tip is translated and stored in English, and the original language you used is not kept, by default. The language a person writes in can narrow down who they are, so that detail is treated as identifying: it is not stored, and it does not travel with the tip.
Where a program offers it, you can choose to have your exact words read untranslated by a fluent team member. That choice is yours to make; it is never the default.
A second lock only you hold
Section titled “A second lock only you hold”You can set a password on your tip. It puts a second lock on your messages that only you can open. If you forget it, you can still confirm your tip was received, but no one, including us, can unlock or recover your messages. Most people do not need a password; the tip code alone lets you check status.
The honest limit
Section titled “The honest limit”TypVault’s own system never logs or stores your IP address. Our host, the company that runs the servers, briefly records the address your connection comes from at the network edge. That record is a standard security safeguard: it helps block abuse and denial-of-service attacks, and it routes your request to the right place. It is a platform default we cannot switch off. It is discarded within about an hour, is never exported, and is never linked to your tip.
One limit sits with you. The protections on this page cover the signals around your tip. The words inside it are yours to choose, and if what you write could point back to you, it is part of the tip.
