If your tip leads to an arrest, your program may offer a cash reward, and you can receive it without giving your name.

Saying yes or no

When you submit your tip, you’re asked whether you’d want a reward if one becomes available. You can answer yes, answer no, or leave it blank. Saying yes doesn’t create a reward. It tells your program you’d accept one if they decide to offer it.

Changing your answer later

You can change your reward answer any time, right up until a reward is approved for your tip. Open your tip with your tip code, and your passphrase if you set one, then update your answer. Once a reward is approved, the app no longer shows the reward-answer control.

Your program decides the amount

TypVault doesn’t set reward amounts and doesn’t decide which tips qualify. Your program makes both calls, based on their own criteria and what happens with your tip. If a reward is approved, your program confirms the amount when you receive it.

Receiving it without giving your name

You receive a reward the same way you check your tip: with your tip code. No name, ID, or other identifying information is ever required.

When your reward is ready, you give your tip code to the teller and receive an envelope, or you get a prepaid card. There’s no separate code to save: your tip code is what matches the reward to your tip, not to you.

Once your reward is on its way, the payout method is set. You can switch between the two options before that point, but not after.
