Your tip code
Your tip code is the only key to your tip. Save it somewhere you can find again, because there is no other way back in.
What the code does
Section titled “What the code does”After you send a tip, you get a short code. That code — on its own, or together with a passphrase if you set one — is what lets you open your tip again to:
- see its status
- read or send a message
- add a reward collection step, if one is offered
Why you need to save it
Section titled “Why you need to save it”TypVault does not ask for your name, an email address, or a phone number. That means there is no account to log into and no “forgot your code” email to send. The tip code is the only thing that connects you to your tip.
If you lose it, there is no way to get it back. Your program cannot look it up from your tip, and neither can anyone who runs TypVault. Losing your code means losing your only way back into that tip. Write it down, save a screenshot, or store it somewhere private before you leave the page.
Checking back is not tracked
Section titled “Checking back is not tracked”You can check your tip as many times as you want, whenever you want. TypVault does not record when you check on your tip, or how many times. There is no log of your visits. Your tip code lets you in, and that’s the only thing the system knows.
This means checking back carries no extra exposure. Checking once or checking every day looks the same to the system: nothing.
If someone else has your code
Section titled “If someone else has your code”Anyone who has your tip code — and passphrase, if you set one — can open your tip the same way you can. Keep it as private as you’d keep the tip itself.
