Referrals to other programs
Your program may refer your tip to another program: a different program may be the one that can act on it, or have the authority to follow up. Your tip code, your passphrase, and your conversation stay where you submitted, no matter what. The receiving program never gets them, and you keep checking your tip the same way you always have, here.
What this doesn’t cover
Section titled “What this doesn’t cover”A referral is a decision investigators make, at both programs. You do not request it or approve it.
These protections cover your tip code, your passphrase, and your conversation. They do not cover what you wrote. If your report includes details that could identify you, those details travel with the copy.
