Is this safe? How anonymity actually works

Yes. You can send a tip without giving your name or any contact details. TypVault does not store your IP address, your device, or your browser fingerprint either.

Sending a tip does not need an account, an email address, or a phone number. You are never asked who you are.

Your IP address is not stored. Your device and browser fingerprint are not stored either. TypVault does not know if you used an iPhone or an Android, Safari or Chrome. Neither does anyone who comes looking later.

Information that was never stored cannot be handed to anyone. Your tip code is the only thing that connects you to your tip.

This gap is built into the system. It is not a setting someone chose to leave off. TypVault does not capture these signals and then decide not to use them. It never captures them in the first place. There is nothing on file to expose, and nothing to hand over if anyone asks.

These protections cover the signals around your tip, not the words inside it. If you write your own name, address, or other identifying details into your tip, that becomes part of what you sent. Write only what you want your program to know.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 directly.
